Open your minds this Holiday Season
Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."
Season's greetings and Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones. Humans have far more in common with one another than they do differences. May this holiday season be filled with joy, laughter and acceptance of those around you and around the world.
Sincerely,
Passport Health Team

National Influenza Vaccination Week
December 5, 2010--The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to recommend influenza vaccination for everyone aged 6 months and older, according to a telebriefing held December 3.
December 5 through 11 is National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW), the CDC announced. The telebriefing also provided updated information on US influenza activity and influenza vaccination rates for the current season.
"[W]e must always remember that even healthy people, young adults, and children can become severely ill from the flu," Howard K. Koh, MD, MPH, assistant secretary for health, Department of Health and Human Services, said in the telebriefing. "That's why the CDC and Health and Human Services this year has promoted what's called the universal vaccination recommendation; that is, that all people with the exception of children under 6 months of age should be vaccinated against the flu."
Dr Koh added, "We need to send that message of the universal recommendation throughout every venue that we can — not only with media, but healthcare providers, faith-based and community-based organizations, employers, pharmacies that have done a great added push this year, and other stakeholders to promote this message of prevention."
